Use TA Cam Lube for cam lobes, and other metal to metal parts contact. Our cam lube, when mixed with engine oil is the perfect viscosity for use on rod, main and cam bearings.
Engine Building Tip: ALL metal to metal contact should be lubricated prior to assembly, including things such as valve springs, retainers and keepers!
During the engine building process, it is important to use an assembly lubricant that will withstand those initial high loads while still being able to dissolve completely with the engine oil once circulation begins. Our EOS, Assembly lube and Cam lube all exhibit these properties. During assembly it is also important to apply assembly lubricant between ALL metal to metal contact. Examples included pushrods to lifters, pushrods to rockers, rocker tip to valve tip, valve spring to shim/locater, retainer to valve spring, keeper to retainer, keeper to valve, cam gears, timing chains, under bolt heads or washers, etc.
