Use TA 1529 assembly lube for general engine assembly, included with our engine kits. Ideal for most metal to metal contact points.
Engine Building Tip: ALL metal to metal contact should be lubricated prior to assembly, including things such as valve springs, retainers and keepers!
During the engine building process, it is important to use an assembly lubricant that will withstand those initial high loads while stillbeing able to dissolve completely with the engine oil once circulation begins. Our EOS, Assembly lube and Cam lube all exhibit theseproperties. During assembly it is also important to apply assembly lubricant between ALL metal to metal contact. Examples includedpushrods to lifters, pushrods to rockers, rocker tip to valve tip, valve spring to shim/locator, retainer to valve spring, keeper to retainer, keeper to valve, cam gears, timing chains, under bolt heads or washers, etc.
